One of the gains of being part of a creative community is the opportunity to explore, share, and experience different realms and conversations in order to feel inspired and creative. As filmmaker, Raabia Hussain, said: “Everything creative begins with a feeling before developing into an inspiration.” You are invited to join us in a series of exploratory tours in the proximity of VN Residency, and discover together the places and people that shape our neighbourhood’s cultural scene and creative community. From landmark museums and cultural foundations, to art galleries and artist-run spaces, we’re going to ‘say hello’, learn about their artistic practice, ‘feed' our creative soul, and feel inspired.
The first tour will take place this month, on Wednesday, 23rd of February
We will meet at VN Residency, from where we will first stop at our next-door neighbour, Tichy Ocean Foundation, and learn about photography as produced by Miroslav Tichý’s homemade cameras and as curated by Harald Szeemann in 2004 on the occasion of the 1st Biennial of Contemporary Art «La alegria de mis sueños» (The Joy of My Dreams) that took place in Seville in 2004.
We will then continue our journey into the world of photography, and visit Bildhalle and their exhibition of Japan 1951-1952 as seen through the lenses of Swiss photographer, Werner Bischof.
Our last stop will be the Museum Haus Konstruktiv where we’re going to explore a fresh perspective on geometric and abstract art, as presented is the museum’s most recent group exhibition, ‘Geometric Opulence’.
The tour is open and free to all VN Residency Residents. Kindly note that there will however be an entrance fee at Haus Konstruktiv (18.- CHF)
Please RSVP by 20 February in order to secure your spot.
